Graham leads the School of Education and Humanities. He has 20 years of experience in teaching and leadership.

Biography

Dr Graham Parton is Head of our School of Education and Humanities. I have worked in three Higher Education Institutions, Canterbury Christ Church University, Leeds Becket University and now the University of Gloucestershire.

My past roles have included Head of Teacher Education, Head of Primary Education and Principal Lecturer in Professional Studies and Primary Computing. Within my role as Head of Teacher Education, I was responsible for the leadership of all teacher education programmes including an innovative two year accelerated primary education degree. I have also lead on a number of key projects including the collaboration with Lloyds Banking Group, and Microsoft Student Teacher Education Partnership.

  • BSc: Primary Education with QTS, University of Lancaster, 1994
  • MA: Science Education, University College London, 1998
  • PhD: Problem-based Learning in Initial Teacher Education: The construction and adaption of professional identity, Leeds Beckett, 2015
