Outreach and widening participation

Empower and educate your students to consider higher education as a valuable progression route into their desired career.

Our diverse range of activities and events cover many different subject areas, and are suitable for students of all ages and abilities.

COVID19 notice: The University of Gloucestershire Outreach Team is currently working from home and delivering outreach virtually. We are keeping a close eye on Government guidance during the present COVID19 pandemic, and will continue to review when we can return to on-campus delivery. Outreach in our partnership schools and colleges will be considered case-by-case in line with H&S guidance.

Please do let us know if there is any alternative you and your students would find useful in the interim and make use of our resources page. If for example, you are hosting an event for your students remotely due to the current situation, we would be happy to support where possible.

We provide an invaluable link between the university and the community: supporting schools, colleges, local groups and other regional and national networks in promoting progression into higher education.

The focus of our work is to educate, advise and inspire students to consider higher education, especially those who may not have previously considered it an option. Please view the recommendations we've compiled based on our in-depth analyses of the Outreach activity we undertake.

The Outreach Team largely work with schools and colleges in the South West and Midlands to deliver a targeted programme of activities and events for students to help them make an informed decision about progression to higher education.
