Celebrate pancake day
Where to grab a flippin’ fantastic stack.
Our favourite day of the month (okay, year) is the perfect time to explore Cheltenham and Gloucester’s scrummy pancake offerings.
Sisu
Sisu is relatively new to Cheltenham but has been taking the town by storm. Rather than a traditional pancake, they’re pancake cake slices made up of many delicious layers of crepes, sandwiched with buttercream. Not only are they tasty, they’re also perfectly instagrammable.
Spago
Spago on Gloucester Quays has some unique savoury flavours, like avocado and egg, or chorizo crepes.
The sweet options hit the spot too – our favourite is Bananutter, a crepe with peanut butter, banana, and Biscoff sauce.
They also serve tapas in the evening, so you could take your trip from day to night if you fancied.
Café boho
Based in The Suffolks in Cheltenham is Café Boho, a Dutch pancake and waffle house favoured amongst students studying at our Park campus just a short walk away.
They offer a large menu, but our favourite has to be the ‘Dutch’, warm apple pancakes topped with maple syrup, cinnamon sugar and fresh cream.
Yanto’s
Yanto’s Pancake House in Gloucester is in a perfect location in the city centre, and is an affordable option for students. They have all the usual toppings, but also have great options for those who don’t have a sweet tooth, such as crispy bacon and sausage pancakes, or vegan breakfast pancakes. They even offer gluten free options!
From sickly sweet to savoury, our pancake offerings around Gloucestershire have something for everyone.
