Senior Lecturer selected to join UK Coaching Panel
Will Roberts, Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Science Academic Course Lead for the MSci/BSc in Sport Coaching Science at the University of Gloucestershire, has been selected to join the UK Coaching Advisory Panel, representing the university.
The Coaching Advisory Panel is comprised of volunteers and has been established to provide guidance to better support people in their commitment to being coaches and coaching forward.
The Panel consults with coaches and key stakeholders to transform coaching policy, coaching practice, and coach education.
Will’s current research revolves around the application of constraints-based approaches in elite sport and developmental/grassroots sport and physical activity settings. He is also the series editor for the ‘Routledge Studies in Constraints-based Methodologies in Sport.’
He is passionate about improving physical literacy and a love of sport in children. Will co-created the ‘Boing Kids’ project, which supports and inspires the creation of playful, active and inclusive activities that develop children’s physical literacy. It recognises that all children are different, while offering solutions to help each child realise their potential.
