Students prepare to meet Sir David Attenborough at the Cheltenham Literature Festival
Sir David Attenborough will take to the stage on Saturday 6 October to discuss his life and career at the Cheltenham Literature Festival 2018, in association with the university.
Students from the university and local secondary schools will meet with celebrated Naturalist Sir David Attenborough, moments before he takes to the stage. As sponsors of the sold-out event the university have been able to invite students from the GROWS network, who provide opportunities to local schools to increase the social-mobility of their pupils, and offer current undergraduates the opportunity to work at the event in their area of study.
Forty years since the original publication, Sir David Attenborough will join journalist and broadcaster Emma Freud, to discuss his completed new edition of the groundbreaking ‘Life on Earth’ book. The students and other members of the audience will receive a signed copy of the new edition and hear all about his life and environmental work to date.
Sir David Attenborough in conversation with Emma Freud will start at 2.30pm on Saturday 6 October. Presenter Graham Norton, singer Gary Barlow and novelist Kate Atkinson will also be among the 1,000 writers, thinkers and performers taking part in the annual Festival.
