University is in top 20 for ‘University of the Year’ at Whatuni Student Choice Awards
The University of Gloucestershire has been ranked in the top 20 in the UK for ‘University of the year’ in the national Whatuni Student Choice Awards. The University also ranked in the top 10 for ‘Student Support’ (10), ‘Courses and Lecturers’ (9) and for ‘Postgraduate’ (8), announced at a ceremony in London (6 April).
These rankings mean the University has risen at least 43 places in the ‘University of the year’ category since 2015.

The Whatuni Student Choice Awards are based entirely on the opinions of students and recent graduates, offering prospective applicants with first hand opinions and experiences which act as an alternative to traditional university league tables. This year the results were based on averages from more than 27,000 reviews and asked students a wide range of questions about their university experience.
These Whatuni rankings come hot on the heels of another rise for the University in the Times Higher Education (THE) Student Experience Survey, published last month. The University rose eight places to 54th out of 122 UK universities, is placed equal 4th in the UK on the specific question about “good personal relationships with teaching staff”, 13th for “helpful/interested staff”, and equal 21st for “high quality staff/lectures”. The University also ranks 27th for teaching quality and 40th for overall student experience in the current Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide.
