Abi discovered a range of new career opportunities

Abi Glyn is a BA (Hons) International Relations student.

After four years of management work in the insurance industry, Abi decided to quit and start a degree in International Relations at the University of Gloucestershire.

“I love every part of the course, all of the classes and lecturers are engaging, and it’s great to be learning about why the international system works as it does and how this affects each of us in our everyday lives.

Abi has taken advantage of the opportunities available on this course.

“I recently submitted evidence on internationalising the national curriculum to an enquiry led by the Royal African Society, based on research I had done for a university assignment.

Whilst I had initially planned to teach history after my degree, the scope of what the course covers has opened me up to new ideas, including potentially working in diplomacy, hopefully for the Foreign Office or maybe one day the United Nations.”
