Charlie joined the police as a DBS researcher

Charlie, Criminology graduate.

“My time at The University of Gloucestershire provided me with key skills and crucial experiences which have allowed me to pursue a career in Avon and Somerset Police. I joined the police as a DBS researcher, which required me to research individuals and assess any risk that they may pose to the child or vulnerable adult workforce.

At The University of Gloucestershire I was provided with the skills that have allowed me to excel in this role, as their Criminology course which taught me varying research methods, organizational skills and the motivation to pursue a career in the field of Criminology.

The Criminology course provided me not only with the skills for my role but gave me an insight into the policing system and the roles that were available. The lecturers were great in assisting me with any gaps that I had in my knowledge as well as with any assistance with my career once I had left the university”.
