Kim Cheffey graduated from the MSc Sports Therapy course at UoG in 2015 and has since built an impressive career within high-performance sport. Passionate about athlete care and performance, Kim has gone on to work in elite women’s rugby, supporting players in demanding competitive environments.
Kim is currently the lead therapist and clinical manage for Bristol Bears Women’s rugby team, providing sports therapy support across training and matchday settings. Her work focuses on injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, helping athletes remain resilient and perform at the highest level. Operating within elite rugby requires clinical expertise, adaptability and strong communication — all skills Kim developed during her time on the MSc programme. Kim’s journey demonstrates how the MSc Sports Therapy course equips graduates with the confidence, practical experience and professional skills needed to succeed in elite sport.
Kim said: “The MSc course allowed me to build a foundation of knowledge and skill. It was placement opportunities I was fortunate enough to do during the MSc course which built my passion for sports therapy. My advice to students is to take the opportunities that will push you out of your comfort zone. Hard work will be remembered.”
