I’ve found my passion for digital storytelling

Studying Digital Media has helped Tamara Smith explore self-expression and digital storytelling.

“Since starting my journey at UoG, I have been able to explore and practise many different pathways towards being a digital media practitioner, which has helped me to find my own approach to expressing myself and storytelling through different media forms. In my second year, I have been exploring maker culture and the Internet of Things, something I wasn’t familiar with previously, and have found the combination of sensors and traditional hardware fascinating.

“UoG has supported me to develop my professional confidence by becoming more involved in the life of the university, and I am currently the Subject Representative for several courses, which means I get to work with students across a range of different subjects. My course has really opened my eyes to the nature of the digital media sector, and through the industry briefs that I have worked on since my first year, I feel I have a growing range of experiences and skills to help me develop my future career opportunities.”
