Back to stories listingRose undertook an MSci at the University of Birmingham, which ended just as the COVID-19 pandemic started. Inspired by the contention she witnessed in how the public responded to that global health crisis, including how people consumed facts and formulated opinions about lockdowns and vaccination, Rose’s PhD is truly interdisciplinary.
Her project involves researching how people engage with, and are informed by, biomedical science infographics in order to optimise engagement and understanding. This combines biomedical science, psychology, and sociology to better understand public engagement of complex and often contentious topics.
