Sam landed a post production role in the audio department at Eikon

Sam Harris graduated with a BA in Sound and Music Production from UoG in 2023 and is now employed by EIKON Group.

“Less than 2 months after handing in my final major project, I began my career within post-production as one of the newest members of the audio department at the EIKON group. At Eikon we specialise in delivering global localisation and mastering services across all platforms for studios and clients around the world from our 3 facilities in London, Los Angeles, and Sydney. We work with and are trusted by many high profile and OTT clients such as Netflix, Apple TV, Disney and many more.

“As an audio technician my role consists of but is not limited to; all audio format quality control from stereo to Atmos, fixes and checks, audio editing, creating deliverables and more. I am based full time at our London office in Soho and during my short time at the company so far, I have managed to learn and further develop my skills within both audio and video.

“Having the opportunity to work within the post-production industry and play a small part in the creation and delivery of high-end film and television makes all the long days worth it. It is and has been hard work, but it pays off in the end. Thanks to the support and guidance of the lecturing staff and use of industry-standard facilities at University. I was able to create projects such as ‘Cinematic Soundscapes: Can you hear history?’ which enabled me to achieve a first-class honours degree and land my current role at Eikon.”
