Centre for Fine Art & Photography

Just a few minutes’ walk from Francis Close Hall Campus is a thriving hub of creativity for our fine art and photography students at Hardwick Campus.

It offers year-round exhibitions in the gallery, including our own third-year degree Show, where students showcase their work to visiting artists and the public.

Fine art and photography studios

With large ceilings and open spaces, our art studios offer a blank canvas for fine art students to get creative and push the boundaries. You’ll have your own dedicated space to experiment, with access to a range of facilities including 3D printers, printmaking, sculpting workshops and digital suites.

There’s also light and dark photography studios which offer students the opportunity to play with natural and controlled lighting options. A dark room, processing space, digital suites and equipment booth accompany the studios so students can develop skills in a range of photography styles.

Green spaces

Students can be found hanging out on the campuses’ central green space or nearby is the beautiful Pittville Park which has a boating lake, tennis courts, aviary and ornamental garden.

The campus’ best kept secret are the edible gardens and pond which attract birds, frogs and wildlife. This oasis for staff, students and the local community has a woodfired oven and LED lights for pizza parties all year-round.

Surrounding Cheltenham are the stunning Cotswold Hills. The Cotswolds are the largest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in the UK.
