On Wednesday 8 October we are hosting a public lecture by Professor Malcolm Prowle, Professor of Performance Management at University of Gloucestershire exploring the challenges of achieving sustainable economic growth in the UK.

This is a hybrid event (in-person and online) taking place in the Business School Lecture Theatre at Oxstalls Campus that is open to all. Registration details can be found below.

Lecture synopsis

Since the 2008/09 recession, UK economic growth has remained below 1% annually raising concerns about living standards and public service funding. Professor Prowle will explore:

  • Definitions and the importance of economic growth
  • Climate change and sustainability
  • Delivering sustainable and equitable economic growth
  • Alternative economic strategies

About the speaker

Professor Malcolm Prowle is a leading expert in performance management and economic policy at the School of Business, Computing and Social Sciences at UoG. His career spans senior roles in government, consultancy (KPMG, PWC), and academia. He has advised ministers, international organisations, and authored over 100 publications.
