Teachers and Advisers CPD – June 2026 Series

Delivered online via Microsoft Teams.

The world of work is evolving rapidly, shaped by technological change, shifting employer expectations and new career patterns, so how can we best prepare students for what comes next?

This 45-minute session explores the future of work and how we can support students to thrive within it, including insight into how students are being prepared at the University of Gloucestershire. It examines key labour market trends, the impact of automation and artificial intelligence, and highlights growth sectors and emerging roles, while emphasising the increasing importance of adaptability, creativity, resilience and wider human skills in a digital world, alongside what employers are really looking for.

The session also shares how employability is embedded across the curriculum through real-world learning, placements and industry engagement, and how students are supported to articulate their skills and experiences effectively. In addition, it offers practical approaches to supporting student readiness, helping learners navigate uncertainty and change, build confidence, and engage positively with non-linear career pathways.
