Golden Valley Youth Advisory Board
Help shape the future of cyber, AI and secure conversations in Gloucestershire
Golden Valley is one of the UK’s most ambitious cyber, AI and emerging technology developments – and young people should have a voice in shaping what comes next.
The Golden Valley Youth Advisory Board is being created to make sure people aged 16-24 can share their ideas, challenge thinking and help influence the future of this nationally significant development in Cheltenham.
What is the Youth Advisory Board?
The Youth Advisory Board will act as a shadow board to the existing Golden Valley Advisory Board.
It will give young people the opportunity to advise on areas including:
- Skills and education
- Careers and future opportunities
- Inclusion and access
- Emerging technologies
- Community engagement
- Communications aimed at young people
The Board will meet quarterly and will provide a direct link between young people and senior leaders from education, industry and the public sector.

Why get involved?
As a member of the Youth Advisory Board, you will have the chance to:
- Help shape the future of Golden Valley
- Share your views on issues that affect young people
- Meet senior leaders and industry experts
- Contribute to consultations and pilot projects
- Build your confidence, skills and experience
- Strengthen your CV
- Help make sure future opportunities are informed by young people.
You do not need to be studying technology or already working in the sector. We want to hear from young people with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.
Who can apply?
We are looking for young people who are:
- Aged 16-24
- Living, studying or working in Gloucestershire
- Interested in the future of the county
- Willing to share their ideas and listen to others
- Passionate about making opportunities more inclusive and accessible
This could include students, apprentices, early-career professionals, young entrepreneurs, community volunteers, or anyone with an interest in technology, innovation, skills, careers or the future of Gloucestershire.
