Posting vacancies on the University of Gloucestershire Employer Hub
Last updated: 4 September 2025
Pay and Remuneration
The following applies to opportunities that do not fall under the categories of volunteering or short-term unpaid internships. Information on these opportunities is provided below.
- Rates of hourly/weekly pay or yearly salary must be clearly stated when uploading. If no specific pay rate is available, an accurate range must be provided. Any opportunities without remuneration listed will be rejected.
- Remuneration must meet National Minimum Wage (NMW) requirements. Any paid roles that do not meet NMW will be rejected.
Organisation Information
- The nature of your business and the role must be clearly described when uploading.
- Please upload your organisation’s logo during the registration process. This enhances visibility and engagement from students and supports more effective promotion.
- You must provide a valid business number or charity registration number.
- If you are a larger organisation with multiple departments, please include the relevant department/division in the organisation name (e.g., University of Gloucestershire (Finance and Planning Dept)).
- A registered office address, email and contact number relevant to the to the role must be provided. Any opportunities or organisations listed without contact details will be rejected.
- We strongly encourage employers to complete all available fields when uploading vacancies, especially links to social media channels. Just like a logo, this can significantly boost student engagement. An empty field is a missed opportunity to showcase your organisation.
Nature of Vacancy
- Please clearly state the length of contract or assignment. We recommend including this in the vacancy title, e.g., Marketing Assistant (12-month placement) or Finance Coordinator (6-month fixed-term contract).
Voluntary and Unpaid Roles
- When approving unpaid roles, we refer to the NMW legislation around ‘worker’ status which can be found on the GOV.UK website. We encourage all employers or vacancy providers to ensure their opportunities adhere to this legislation. If we feel that a role is being advertised to our students as unpaid that should be meeting NMW legislation, we reserve the right to reject it.
- Though short-term internships may be advertised to students as unpaid, we strongly encourage our employer partners to consider the financial pressures on students when advertising unpaid opportunities that are longer than one month in duration.
Recruitment Agencies
- If you are a recruitment agency uploading vacancies, opportunities will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to ensure there is transparency and clarity for our students, and to avoid conflict with the University of Gloucestershire’s own temporary staffing service aimed at supporting our students (Unitemps).
- Where a conflict is identified, the Student Futures team will discuss this with the recruitment agency to ensure we are providing our students with the best possible variety of opportunities.
- Ordinarily, vacancies posted by recruitment agencies will only be considered/approved if they are being recruited to the agency itself and not on behalf of a third party. If you are a third party considering using a recruitment agency to employ students, please contact [email protected].
General Terms
- The University reserves the right to not list or remove roles/employers that may be considered in conflict with our own values.
- The University reserves the right to not list or remove events that may be considered in conflict with its own values.
