Posting Events on the University of Gloucestershire Employer Hub

To ensure the safety, wellbeing, and positive experience of our students, all employers posting events through the University of Gloucestershire’s careers portal must agree to the following terms and conditions:

Event Content and Purpose

  1. Events must be relevant to student career development, employability, industry insight, or networking opportunities.
  2. Content must be appropriate for a university audience and must not promote discriminatory views, political agendas or controversial causes.

Health, Safety and Safeguarding

  1. Employers must ensure in-person events meet appropriate health and safety standards, including venue risk assessments.
  2. Ensure a safe and respectful environment for students, in person or online.
  3. Events with vulnerable groups or one-to-one interaction must have appropriate safeguarding measures. Documentation may be requested.

Event Promotion

  1. Provide accurate event details: date, time, location, delivery format, event description, and booking process.
  2. Events missing key information may be delayed or declined.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

  1. Events must be open and welcoming to all students and must not exclude, based on any protected characteristic.
  2. Employers are expected to promote inclusive practices in events and recruitment.

Data Protection and Student Privacy

  1. Do not collect personal data without student knowledge or explicit consent.
  2. Handle all data in accordance with UK GDPR. Do not use data for unrelated marketing or share it with third parties.

Recruitment Activity at Events

  1. If recruitment is part of the event, state this in the description.
  2. Any discussed job opportunities must meet the University’s vacancy standards (e.g., NMW compliance).

Respect and Professionalism

  1. Treat all students with professionalism and courtesy.
  2. Harassment or misuse of the platform will result in removal and potential banning.

Event Cancellations or Changes

  1. Notify the University promptly if an event is cancelled, postponed or changed.
  2. Inform registered students of cancellations where appropriate.

University Discretion

  1. Events may be removed if in conflict with University values or safeguarding responsibilities.
  2. The University reserves the right to approve, edit or decline events at its discretion.
