3. Eligibility
To be eligible for the Clearing Package, you must:
- Apply to the University to study as a new full-time undergraduate student commencing in September 2026 via UCAS Clearing 2026, during the Clearing Package Period
- Qualify for UK home tuition fee status
- Hold and meet the conditions of an offer of a place at the University made through UCAS Clearing 2026
- Successfully complete enrolment at the University for September 2026
You are not eligible if you:

- Are withdrawing from an existing offer and reapplying through Clearing
- Are currently enrolled as a student at the University
- Are an employee of the University, a member of their immediate family, or are otherwise directly involved in the administration of this offer
Eligibility is subject to verification by the University. The University’s decision on eligibility is final.
4. How the package works
You do not need to take any additional action to access the package benefits beyond applying and enrolling. If you meet the eligibility criteria:
- You will automatically be considered for the Accommodation Discount on a first-come, first-served basis (limited to the first 50 eligible applicants)
- You will receive the remaining guaranteed benefits upon completing enrolment
- Where additional steps are required (such as applying for accommodation or a parking permit), the University will contact you with details following your enrolment
5. The £5,000 accommodation discount
Eligibility for the discount
The successful applicants will be the first 50 otherwise eligible applicants from whom the University receives a complete application for accommodation at Pittville Student Village, determined by the timestamp recorded in the University’s accommodation system.
To be eligible for the £5,000 Accommodation Discount, you must also:
- Be among the first 50 eligible applicants (determined by the date and time the University receives a completed accommodation application from you)
- Accept an offer of a hall of residence room at Pittville Student Village for the 2026/27 academic year during the ‘Clearing Package Period’
- Enter into the University’s accommodation agreement for the 2026/27 academic year by any deadline notified to you
How the discount is applied
- The £5,000 Accommodation Discount is not a cash payment. It will be applied as a credit against the accommodation fees payable under your accommodation agreement for your first year of study only
- The discount will be applied in three instalments when each rent payment is due. The discount applied to the first rent payment will be £1,666.66, followed by two subsequent discounts of £1,666.67 applied to the second and third rent payments – totalling a £5,000 discount across the three rent payments due during the academic year.
- You remain responsible for paying all accommodation fees and other sums due under your accommodation agreement after the discount has been applied. For an ‘original halls room’ at Pittville Student Village, the standard annual rent is approximately £7,960 , meaning you would be expected to pay approximately £2,960 after the discount has been applied
- An initial advance rent payment of £200 will be required to secure your accommodation place, which will reduce the total amount payable from the balance after any discount is applied.
- The Accommodation Discount applies to all room types at Pittville Student Village only. Applicants who have selected rooms at other halls of residence (e.g. not Pittville Student Village) are not eligible for the discount
- The Accommodation Discount is non-transferable, cannot be exchanged, and has no cash value or alternative
Relationship with the accommodation agreement
The accommodation agreement, the Halls of Residence Regulations, and all applicable payment requirements continue to apply in full. In the event of any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and the accommodation agreement, the accommodation agreement will take precedence in relation to accommodation matters.
Withdrawal and pro-rata discount
If you voluntarily withdraw from your course or terminate your accommodation agreement before the end of your contract, the Accommodation Discount will be recalculated on a pro-rata basis. You will be entitled to retain a proportion of the discount equivalent to the number of nights you have occupied the accommodation as a proportion of the total contract length, calculated at the nightly rate. Any discount already applied in excess of this amount will be recoverable by the University.
Forfeiture of the discount
You will forfeit any remaining entitlement to the Accommodation Discount, with no pro-rata calculation applied, and the University reserves the right to recover any portion of the discount already applied, if:
- You are required to vacate your accommodation as a result of a breach of the accommodation agreement or Halls of Residence Regulations
- You are suspended or withdrawn from the University as a result of disciplinary proceedings or a breach of the Student Code of Conduct
- You are found to have provided false or misleading information in connection with your application or eligibility for this package
6. Accommodation guarantee
All eligible applicants who apply for University accommodation by 23:59 on Friday 21 August 2026 will be guaranteed an offer of University accommodation for the 2026/27 academic year.
- The accommodation guarantee is subject to the University’s standard accommodation application process
- The University will endeavour to offer accommodation at, or as close as practicable to, the campus at which you are studying. This is subject to availability and the University cannot guarantee a specific halls of residence, campus location or room type
- The accommodation guarantee does not form part of your offer of a place at the University and is separate from your academic offer
- Students wishing to apply for the Accommodation Discount at Pittville Student Village must apply for accommodation in accordance with Section 5 above
7. Free society membership
All eligible applicants who complete enrolment will receive one free society membership via #TeamGlos: Unlocked for the 2026/27 academic year.
- The free membership covers the joining fee for one society of your choice available through the separate #TeamGlos: Unlocked package
- The membership can be redeemed from UoGSU following enrolment and arrival at the University. It is not available prior to enrolment
- The free membership is for the 2026/27 academic year only and is non-transferable and has no cash value or alternative
- The University reserves the right to substitute this benefit with an alternative of equal or greater value where circumstances require
8. Free parking permit
All eligible applicants who complete enrolment and are not residing in University-managed accommodation will be entitled to apply for a free student parking permit for the 2026/27 academic year.
- The parking permit is available at University of Gloucestershire campuses where student parking is available, subject to capacity. The University cannot guarantee parking availability at any specific campus
- Students residing in University-managed accommodation (including Pittville Student Village) are not eligible for the free parking permit
- The parking permit is non-transferable and has no cash value or alternative
- The permit is subject to the University’s standard parking terms and conditions and the University’s Code of Conduct. The University reserves the right to withdraw the permit where these are breached
9. Important conditions
- All benefits are non-transferable, cannot be exchanged, and have no cash value or alternative unless otherwise stated
- Benefits cannot be claimed by a third party on your behalf
- The University reserves the right to substitute any benefit with an alternative of equal or greater value where circumstances beyond its reasonable control make it necessary to do so (including supply issues or product discontinuation)
- You must comply with all applicable University policies and the Student Code of Conduct in connection with any benefits received
- The University does not accept responsibility if you are unable to take up any benefit as a result of your own actions or decisions (for example, choosing not to apply for University accommodation)
- The University reserves the right to amend, suspend or withdraw this Clearing Package offer at any time, including during the Clearing Package Period, by publishing updated terms on its website. Any such changes will not affect benefits already confirmed to eligible applicants who have completed enrolment, except where required by law or where an applicant is in breach of these Terms and Conditions.
10. Withdrawal and non-enrolment
- If you do not complete enrolment at the University, you will not be entitled to any benefits under this package
- If you withdraw from your course following enrolment, any remaining benefits under this package may be withdrawn at the University’s discretion. In particular, if you are in receipt of the Accommodation Discount, please refer to Section 5 above regarding the conditions that apply
- Benefits already received prior to withdrawal will not be recoverable by the University except where you have breached the terms of the relevant accommodation agreement or these Terms and Conditions
11. Limitation of liability
Insofar as is permitted by law, the University, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate any applicant or third party, except in the event of personal injury or death resulting directly from the University’s negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your statutory rights are not affected.
The University accepts no responsibility for any losses suffered where an applicant has relied on receiving the Accommodation Discount as their sole means of securing accommodation and has not applied for accommodation independently.
12. Personal data
Personal information provided as part of your application and enrolment will be used by the University to administer the Clearing Package, including verifying eligibility, administering the Accommodation Discount, contacting eligible applicants, and delivering package benefits. Personal data will be processed in accordance with the University’s Privacy Notice, available at www.glos.ac.uk/information/knowledge-base/website-privacy-notice/
13. Governing law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales in the event of any dispute.
In the event of any dispute regarding the package, the University’s decision is final. This does not affect your statutory rights or any right to raise a complaint under applicable University procedures.
