Statement on A level and GCSE results

At the University of Gloucestershire, we welcome the decision by Ofqual and the Department for Education (DfE) to award students their Teacher Assessed grades for both A levels and GCSEs. We feel that this is a fair decision and will work with our applicants and their schools/colleges to support them with the next stage of their lives.

Before and after results day, we had a significant increase in acceptances for places to study with us in September 2020 and January 2021, and continue to welcome applications from students through UCAS Clearing. We will look individually at any cases where students are now able to secure a place with us as a result of this change.

If your revised grades now mean that you qualify for our Academic Merit Scholarship, we will honour that change too (terms and conditions apply) and award the scholarship accordingly. You do not need to contact us about these changes.

We encourage students to get in touch with us directly to discuss their options. In some cases we have professional accreditation and capacity considerations (for example, clinical placements for our Nurses and Paramedic Science courses), but we will endeavour to look at each case on its own merit and will make decisions accordingly.

All courses with vacancies are listed on the Clearing section of our website.

Teachers and Advisers, as well as students, are welcome to contact us. Please use our clearing number 03330 432414 or contact us via our Live Chat system.

For all those with confirmed places, whether through the normal application cycle or through clearing, we look forward to welcoming you to the University of Gloucestershire next month (or in January for courses that start in January).
