Our schools and CCRI

Find out more about working in our schools and our Countryside and Community Research Institute (CCRI).

UoG has 3 schools, each offering diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, as well as apprenticeships.

These schools are responsible for delivering high-quality education, conducting specialised research, and developing commercial activities.

As a member of the academic team, you would have the opportunity to:

  1. Deliver engaging and thought-provoking courses across various disciplines.
  2. Contribute to cutting-edge research in your field.
  3. Participate in commercial activities and partnerships with external organisations.
  4. Be part of #TeamGlos, supporting students in their academic and professional development.

Rewarding career and benefits

UoG is committed to preparing students for successful careers after graduation. The university provides placements, work experience opportunities, and develops career-relevant skills to ensure students are well-equipped for the working world.

By joining the academic team, you would play a crucial role in supporting students to become the best versions of themselves as they transition into their professional lives.

If you join UoG you’ll receive a whole range of benefits, including 37 days annual leave and enrolment onto the Teachers’ pension scheme. Plus, if you’re new to teaching we can support you with the Academic Professional Apprenticeship (APA) or Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP).

COUNTRYSIDE AND COMMUNITY RESEARCH INSTITUTE

In addition to the 3 schools, UoG is home to the Countryside and Community Research Institute (CCRI), which plays a significant role in shaping rural development policy and practice in the UK, Europe, and beyond.

CCRI has been recognised as “an internationally excellent Research Institute with world-leading researchers” in the REF 2021 assessment, with over 85% of its research judged as internationally significant, rigorous, and high quality.
