Adam Gain

Lecturer in Dance

I have performed professionally for a number of contemporary dance companies, travelling all over the world and working with many international choreographers.

Biography

I specialise in performance skills, dance teaching, inclusive dance practice and choreographic methods.

I have gained performance and teaching expertise from my industry experience, working with companies such as James Wilton Dance and Candoco Dance Company. I have taught creative workshops and technique classes all over the world, worked with internationally renowned choreographers, and performed seminal dance works such as Trisha Brown’s Set and Reset/Reset and Jérôme Bel’s The Show Must Go On.

I continue my personal explorations of improvisatory techniques, and enjoy discovering connections between dance and other physical disciplines such as capoeira, parkour, martial arts and rock climbing.

My ethos: everybody can dance and every body can dance.
