Social Sciences

Richard is a Lecturer in Policing in the social sciences subject area. He teaches on our BSc Policing course, and is a former police officer.


Richard was a police officer with Thames Valley Police for 12 years before moving into Higher Education. He has worked in various front-line roles in policing, and has worked numerous high profile events such as the 2012 Olympics. Richard's main role was as a football officer, working all over the country, and he has a strong interest in football hooliganism and how it is policed.
