Having spent twenty years in secondary schools I made the transition to university to jointly lead the Secondary PGCE course. Having graduated from the University of East Anglia in 2004 with an MA in History, specifically landscape history, I moved into teaching having completed a PGCE at the University of Cambridge. I taught in three schools developing curriculum, presenting at conferences, contributing to papers and writing my own blog “Tweedteacher”. Since starting at University of Gloucestershire I have been involved in completing my Advance HE Fellowship, along with a National Professional Qualification (NPQ) in Leading Teaching and Learning. My aim is to recruit, train and support teachers as they progress through their careers, whilst developing new and exciting ways to engage people with history.
