I joined the Primary Education Team at the University of Gloucestershire in 2024, following a number of years teaching in schools across Birmingham and Gloucestershire. During this time, I took on a range of leadership responsibilities and developed a strong interest in mentoring and supporting early career teachers. This led to a lasting passion for teacher education.
As a Lecturer in Education, I teach across both the BEd Primary and PGCE programmes, with a subject specialism in Primary Mathematics. I also contribute to the delivery of Primary Music and lead several undergraduate modules, including in the first and third years. I lead the second-year placement module and support student teachers and school-based colleagues in my role as a Lead Mentor. As a personal tutor on the BEd programme, I provide academic and pastoral support throughout the course.
I hold the NPQ in Leading Teacher Development and am currently involved in research focused on effective mentoring within initial teacher education. Alongside my role at the university, I work with GLOW, the local Maths Hub, delivering specialist professional development for teaching assistants through the SKTM programme.
I am passionate about supporting student teachers to grow in confidence, develop their subject knowledge and become reflective, inspiring practitioners.
