I joined the Primary Education Team in 2022, following a rewarding career as a primary school teacher. My role at University of Gloucestershire is wonderfully varied, including teaching, personal tutoring, dissertation supervision, membership in an AI special interest group, and leading the PGCE in Primary Practice course.
My subject specialisms are in Primary Computing and Design and Technology, and I also lead a BEd enhancement module focused on sustainability, outdoor learning, and philosophical enquiry, alongside contributing to the Geography teaching team. I am currently writing a book chapter on using literature to develop climate literacy in the primary classroom.
Recently trained as a Lead Mentor, a role that involves supporting staff and students on placement and delivering CPD for school mentors.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is working closely with our students – supporting their development, nurturing their confidence, and helping shape the next generation of inspiring primary educators.
