Technician Demonstrator - Cartographic

As a Cartographic Technician Demonstrator, I support the use of Geographic Information System (GIS) software within the School of Natural and Social Sciences. As well as supporting the access to and use of data from Edina Digimap across the university.

Biography

I have been in my current role in the University since January 2008 but have been associated with the University since 1992 as an undergraduate student. My role includes supporting lectures that teach the use of various GIS software and map use. I also provide access to and support in the use of the university paper maps collection as well as supporting access to digital data sets for use in GIS. I am also the university Site representative for Edina Digimap one of our main providers of map or mappable data sets.

  • PGCert: Higher Education, University of Gloucestershire, 2012

Specially commended by the judges of the Geography, Earth, and Environmental Sciences Technician of the Year 2014 award for her outstanding contribution to the student learning experience.
