I am responsible for ensuring that our students and graduates can access relevant careers support in person and online throughout their whole student journey and beyond. Helping others achieve their goals – by tackling whatever real or imagined obstacles are in their way! – is something that continues to make this career so interesting and exciting.
I joined the University in 2009 and have since held several roles within employability including placements, marketing and communications, career coaching and managing teams of students. Alongside my roles here I trained as a copywriter and gained my L4 NVQ in Advice and Guidance.
Between 2020-24 I completed a Digital Marketing degree apprenticeship at UoG, and explored freelance marketing management outside UoG. Most recently I have qualified as a Cognitive Hypnotherapist, which has given me a new appreciation for how much (often hidden) power we have to change our habits, perceptions and behaviours.
Outside of work I have a busy family life and am always exploring new opportunities for learning, working on my therapy practice and pursuing my novel-writing goals.
