Senior Lecturer of Mental Health Nursing at University of Gloucestershire.

Biography

In 2007 I qualified as a mental health nurse and went on to undertake an interesting career working mostly with older adults with mental health difficulties, including those living with dementia. This included inpatient and community experience working for Hywel Dda Health Board in a rural area of Wales. Working within rural settings offers unique challenges and opportunities within healthcare, and I draw on these experiences to share with students.

I joined the University of the West of England in 2016 as a Lecturer of Mental Health, became a Senior Lecturer in 2018, and moved to University of Gloucestershire at the end of 2021. I teach and lead modules on the undergraduate Nursing programme (for mental health, as well as other fields of nursing). I also have experience teaching on a number of postgrad/’Continuing Professional Development courses.
