Dr Emily Beaumont

Dr Emily Beaumont is Associate Professor of Enterprise and Entrepreneurship at the University of Gloucestershire, UK, where she also holds institutional leadership responsibility for REF 2029 preparation. Her work sits at the intersection of enterprise education, employability, entrepreneurial careers and institutional change within higher education.

Biography

Emily’s work centres on how enterprise and entrepreneurship competencies are developed and embedded across higher education, with a particular focus on integrating employability, enterprise and entrepreneurship (the 3Es) and aligning practice with frameworks such as EntreComp. She also explores both curricular and extra-curricular enterprise education and is developing a growing research strand in sport and enterprise through work with the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme. Her research is highly applied, translating into practical tools, frameworks and guidance for policymakers and sector bodies.

She holds significant national leadership roles, including former President and current Director of Enterprise Educators UK, and Vice President and Trustee of the Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship. She also contributes to the Small Business Charter and the Graduate Futures Institute, shaping enterprise and employability policy across UK higher education.

A prolific author and editor, Emily’s publications span enterprise education, apprenticeships, sport and enterprise, and entrepreneurial careers, with a strong emphasis on competency development and real-world impact. Alongside this, she is an experienced academic leader and mentor, committed to inclusive practice, research culture, and supporting academic development and impact across disciplines.
