Dr Legha Momtazian

Senior Lecturer In International Business & HRM

Biography

Legha is passionate about individual and collective work experiences, what work means to individuals, how the work of individuals and organisations positions them in society, and how they identify their role in serving their environment.

Her teaching experience includes a variety of modules in the areas of human resource management, diversity and inclusion, HR analytics, and research skills, and she has supervised several master’s and PhD research projects.

Her background in industry, working in finance and accounting, has developed her planning and delivery skills while considering the financial challenges in organisational and human resources decision-making and has broadened her teaching and research scope.

Her research interest in meaningful work and justice expands beyond organisational research, and includes exploring the effectiveness of supporting young people at risk or in conflict with the law, with their internalised sense of purpose and intended career paths.

Teaching

Legha teaches a variety of HRM modules, including the CIPD (Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development) career development plan and reflection, HRM modules, HR analytics, Research skills and Dissertation modules. She supervises PhD projects in the areas of people management and education.

Research

Her research includes meaningful work and its impact on individuals and organisations and how they place themselves in society. It extends to collective decision-making and justice and includes connections with a variety of institutions such as NHS and Youth justice system.

Her research in relation to youth justice includes supporting young people at risk or in conflict with the law to empower their agency and find their place in society with active decisions and contributions.
