Lizzie Minnion

Senior Lecturer in Film Production

I'm an experienced award winning editor, passionate about enabling students to find their creative voices.

My editing credits have won awards at Visions du Réel (Regards Neufs Prix) Televisual Bull Dog Awards, RTS, Encounters, and received Grierson and RTS nominations.

I also work as a drama practitioner and director, with a particular interest in enabling people to tell their own stories.

I’m passionate about film as a tool for social change and working with students to develop their individual voices as film makers.

Teaching & Research

I bring extensive industry experience to my teaching and implement a combination of practical and lecture based teaching in post production, and narrative storytelling in both documentary and drama.

A recurring interest of mine is the specific process of narrative creation as an empowering experience. I am keen to research new ways to capture this process on film. I am also interested in exploring the way films can translate into live events and become interactive experiences in order to further connect with and empower their audiences, this is what my current research is exploring.
