Nathalie Dawson

Careers and Employability Officer

I have worked in Higher Education since 2007 and am passionate about supporting people and building meaningful connections.

Biography

I previously supported the Gloucestershire business community through my work with The Growth Hub, and I now bring this experience to my role supporting students and graduates. I enjoy helping them build confidence and connect their skills and ambitions with the world of work.

I now work within the Careers and Employability team at the University of Gloucestershire, supporting students and graduates to develop career skills, find placements and progress into graduate employment. My role focuses on delivering career guidance and employability workshops, running the Professional Mentoring programme, as well as contributing to the University’s wider employability strategy.

I am particularly interested in building students’ confidence, helping them to recognise their skills and strengths and communicate effectively to future employers that they have what it takes to succeed. Before joining the Careers team, I worked in business development and student enterprise roles within Higher Education, as well as in sales and marketing in the charitable arts sector.

Other Work and Interests

Outside my professional role, I volunteer with a variety of charities in positions focused on community engagement and professional support. These roles allow me to give back and further develop the people-centred approach that underpins my work with students, graduates and external stakeholders.
