I am a Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registered Learning Disabilities Nurse, as well as a qualified teacher. It has been my privilege to work in a range of services for people with Learning Disabilities in residential settings, Day Services and in Education, working with adults and young…

Biography

My practice interests include working with people with autistic spectrum conditions, and people with complex physical disabilities. I have been a Senior Manager in practice and retain an interest in the managerial and organisational aspects of the nursing profession. I believe very strongly in service user and carer involvement in nursing programmes, and these will be central to the Learning Disabilities programme philosophy.

Learning Disabilities Nursing is a values driven profession and in this programme students will be supported to develop an ethical approach and to advocate for the rights of people with Learning disabilities.
