Paul Roberts

Senior Lecturer in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography

Preparing students for, and seeing them begin a life in photography, may be the most satisfying part of my job, but doing it in such a way that every student can be the very best they can be, is what drives me to make the course amazing.

I’ve worked as a sports photographer for well over a decade, working with The Press Association, The Football Association and Getty images. My sport images have been seen worldwide through my coverage of Premier League football, Premiership Rugby, Wimbledon Tennis and UK Horse Racing, published in most UK and International newspapers and magazines.

Teaching & Research

My teaching focuses on Photojournalism and Documentary Photography by preparing students to embark on successful careers utilising my own experiences of moving into photojournalism from University to help develop a strong basis. When not teaching or photographing my research centres on finding new and exciting opportunities for student development.

My current research is based in documentary film making, and exploring the landscape of post Brexit Britain through the experiences of groups and organisations.
