Biography

I came to University of Gloucestershire from Reach plc where I ran both Gloucestershire Live and Somerset Live, as well as being part of the wider Reach brand that includes the Daily Mirror and the Daily Express.

I have also worked at regional papers in Oxford, Gloucester and Cheltenham, helping to lead teams through the transformation into multi-platform working.

I have seen first-hand the skills journalists need to succeed in the fast-moving and ever-changing media landscape. By grounding student journalists in the fundamentals of good journalistic practice, by building on their skills and confidence, I want to prepare them for a thrilling, challenging and rewarding career.

Throughout my years in journalism, I have developed contacts across the sector from regional to national outlets, and I have a wealth of experience to pass on to students.

I think journalists are among the best people on the planet. I’m thrilled to be involved in helping shape the brilliant, original and confident journalists of the future.
