Simon De Waal

Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise

My teaching and research expertise is in the areas of training load monitoring, the use and application of wearable technologies, and trail running performance.

Biography

I have been teaching in Higher Education in the applied sport and exercise sciences for seven years, previously at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. I’ve taught across a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate modules including in the areas of; peak performance, current and contemporary issues in sport and exercise science, talent identification and development and research methods.

More recently I’ve taken on the Academic Course Lead role for the MSc Sports Performance Analysis degree at the University of Gloucestershire.
