Stewart joined the University in 2005 holding various senior roles leading our student support services.
In February 2024, he took up his current role as Director of Student Experience; in addition to being responsible for the wide range of services within his department, he also leads on a number of key themes for the University including wellbeing, safeguarding, community liaison, student conduct, and compliance with regard to the Prevent Duty.
Prior to joining the University, Stewart had a management career leading organisations within both the commercial and not-for-profit sectors, including holding the role of General Manager for the University’s Students’ Union.
Stewart is an alumni of both the universities of Winchester and Gloucestershire, and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). Outside of the University, he is an elected Councillor seeking to effectively support and represent his local community. As a follower of both Gloucester Rugby and West Ham Utd – he tries to remain optimistic!
