Statement of Intent
The University of Gloucestershire is registered with the Office of the Information Commissioner according to the Data Protection Act 1998 to process personal data relating to its students in order to carry out its normal administration. This data, which may relate to ethnicity and disability, is stored and processed for various administrative, academic and health and safety reasons, and it may be used by the university for it's own marketing purposes.
The data collected is processed in accordance with the Act and will only be available within the University to members of staff who need to know in order to perform their duties. No personal data will be passed to any third party without the consent of the person concerned, unless the University is required to do so by the provisions stipulated under the Data Protection Act 1998 or an appropriate authority acting under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000.
Cookies
This web site uses cookies (small text files which are sent to us by your computer, if you choose to have it do so) to store some items of information. For example, cookies are used to contribute usage information to the web server usage logs.

Interactive Services
Some services on our web sites, such as Order a Prospectus, ask for contact details so that we can respond to your requests. This information is logged not only so that we can provide the service itself but also so that we can investigate and correct any problems which might occur.
Web Server Usage Logs
This web server logs each web request made to it. This information can include semi-identifiable personal details such as a computer's current IP address. The usage log entries are made anonymous and aggregated to produce general usage reports, which are used to enable us to improve the site.
