If you’re a fan of the Harry Potter films then you’ll want to see this. Gloucester Cathedral was used as the backdrop for many scenes around Hogwarts. Memorable moments like the troll wandering the corridor and the writing in blood on the wall were all filmed here.

Gloucestershire is home to more than 45 festivals each year. Camp out at music festivals in the woods, watch world-class chefs at our food and drink festival, or spark your curiosity at the science festival. With festivals covering sport, art, literature, jazz, history and more, there’ll be something for you.

The historic docks are home to the bustling outlet shopping centre, Gloucester Quays. Shop for designer brands at huge discount prices, eat out at one of the many restaurants or bars, or catch the latest blockbuster at Cineworld. This location also hosts many markets and festivals, including the famous Tall Ships festival.

“As soon as I stepped onto campus, I just knew that this was where I was going to study. Everyone made me feel so welcome and I just felt at home! I remember the course intro talk for Criminology and Dr Jon Hobson just amazed me: his passion for the social sciences was clear and it made me want to study here even more.”
