Information and guidance on placement completion and course progression. This page sets out the requirements to pass each placement including placement hours, required documentation and other useful information. It also includes full guidance on how students can progress when a retreival of practice is required.
Information and guidance for the Protected Learning Hour
As part of their practice learning experience, all students are expected to complete a ‘Protected Learning hour’ once a week. The Protected Learning Hour is a space for all students to identify a learning opportunity during their practice education time and have time to explore this.

NMC Standards for Student Supervision and Assessment (SSSA) Supporting Information hub.
The NMC Information Hub contains a range of help, advice, guides and information. It covers the roles of supervisors, academic assessors and practice assessors. It also describes the importance of a positive and inclusive learning culture in both practice and simulated settings, enabling students to be the best future professionals they can be.
