UoG show will celebrate artistic talent and new campus facilities

University of Gloucestershire’s 2025 Creative Arts Degree Show will celebrate student work whilst also revealing exciting plans for major investment in campus facilities.

Taking place at Park Campus in Cheltenham from 30 May to 8 June, the Degree Show is a central event in the University’s calendar. Free to attend and with no booking required, it provides a unique opportunity for members of the public to enjoy the outstanding, stimulating and often award-winning work produced by students on their journey to successful careers within the creative arts industry.

This year’s event takes place against a backdrop of significant investment in campus facilities that will see the University’s Fine Art and Photography departments join Park Campus later this year to benefit from new studios, workshop spaces and other specialist facilities as part of the University’s new Creative Campus.

Bringing Fine Art and Photography courses together with other creative programmes – including art, music, TV and film production – will further enhance the University’s vibrant arts campus community.

The developments will include the creation of new gallery spaces available for artists from the local community to use, as well as those from the University’s accomplished alumni network. These additional facilities will help build connections between the University and the local community, and will help cement Cheltenham as an important cultural hub.

Anna Hobbs, Associate Head of the University’s School of Creative Arts, said: “It’s always fantastic to welcome to our graduates, the local community and members of the creative arts sector to join us in celebrating the achievements of our graduating cohort as we wish them well for the future.

“Graduates and students from the School of Creative Arts have won a number of national industry awards over the past 12 months, including awards from the Royal Television Society. This is a testament to the outstanding talent thriving within our community, with our students progressing into careers in the arts and creative industries as designers, artists, filmmakers, musicians, journalists, poets and historians.

“We’re excited about welcoming members of local community to our Creative Arts Degree Show where they will not only be able to enjoy the fantastic work of our students but also find out more about how the local community can look forward to benefiting from access to our wonderful new campus facilities.”

Dr Matthew Andrews, University of Gloucestershire’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “This year’s Creative Arts Degree Show will be extra special as we will be able to show plans for how our facilities are being transformed into exciting creative spaces for our students to flourish.

“This project represents a major investment – £2million over three years – with developments taking place over the summer ready for the new academic year.

“The major investment in this Creative Campus complements our Future Park development, bringing increased life, vibrancy, and dynamic new facilities to our much-loved and beautiful Park Campus.

“University of Gloucestershire’s connection with the Creative Arts dates back to 1852, with the founding of the Cheltenham School of Art. Our exciting plans demonstrate the central role that creative programmes will play in our future.”
