Applying for halls of residence

Find out how to apply for halls of residence at UoG.

UCAS Clearing 2024

We’ll guarantee you a place in university or partner-managed halls of residence if you accept a place through UCAS Clearing and apply for accommodation by 23 August 2024.

September 2024 entry

The 2024/25 halls application process is now live.

We will guarantee you a place in university or partner managed halls of residence if you accept a place at UoG and apply for accommodation by 23 August 2024.

We’d suggest waiting 24 hours after accepting your offer before applying for accommodation to allow UCAS to update our system.

Apply online today

To begin your application you’ll need:

  1. To have accepted an unconditional/conditional offer or be a returning student
  2. A university network account

You can choose up to three halls and room types on your application. Rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis so we cannot guarantee you will get your first choice.

When do I get confirmation that I’ve been allocated a room?

2023/24 room offers for University managed halls of residence are normally sent to the email address you registered with UCAS within 2 weeks of receiving your application. You will need to make a payment of £200 and set up a direct debit for your rent payment.

This will include instructions on completing the room acceptance process via our halls portal where you will be given details of your room, dates of occupancy, rent and full terms and conditions.

You will need to make a payment of £200 at this time and set up a direct debit for rent payment within seven days of receiving your room offer. If you accept an offer of a place in residence, you will be signing a legally-binding contract for the full period stated on the offer letter.

Your room offer email will also include a link to a webpage featuring arrival details and other useful information.

Students with disabilities

The university’s halls of residence have accessible rooms on all campuses. These rooms tend to be larger than the other rooms in halls with more accessible bathroom facilities and flexible interiors to suit the level of need required.

The university endeavours to accommodate the needs of students with disabilities. In order to assist the accommodation office with specific requirements, we encourage you to initially contact one of our disability advisers.

Call 01242 714541 or email [email protected] and to talk to us about your requirements.
