Specialist facilities

We have specialist hire facilities for you to use, including drama and dance studios and mock hospital settings.

Our extensive range of state-of-the-art creative specialist facilities and specialist equipment are available to hire outside of our core teaching periods. All facilities are manned by our specialist technical team.

Hire facilities available are:

• Post-production suite

Our facilities and equipment are available to hire outside of the main academic year (June to mid – September) Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.

Hospital ward

Situated at our Oxstalls campus, our simulated training hospital ward can be booked for external hire for a variety of purposes including filming, teaching and clinical skill development.

The state of the art ward is equipped with six hospital beds, filming and debriefing facilities, and additional equipment including manikins, ventilators and non invasive monitoring devices can be available upon request.

We also have pre-hospital equipment and training facilities available on request. Please enquire with the team for further details.

Available to hire year around, but there is greater availability outside of term time.

Physiotherapy beds

Also based at our Oxstalls campus, our physiotherapy teaching rooms are available for external hire.

All rooms have AV provision and we have rooms with 10, 13 and 15 beds available. These can be hired in conjunction with classrooms.

Our performing arts spaces are suitable for a variety of purposes from rehearsals, to group classes, film and photography. All rooms are sound proofed, air conditioned and have computer and laptop accessibility.

The garden studio

A light and airy studio, equipped with a sprung wooden floor, floor to ceiling body height mirrored wall, curtain track and a piano.

Capacity: 37 people.

The drama studio

A fully blacked out studio equipped with lighting equipment and a lighting desk, a vinyl floor and celling mounted lighting. In addition, there are 30 wall mounted fold-down seats.

Capacity: 37 people.

Dance studios

We have two adjoining dance studios which can be combined to create one larger space. The studio has a Harlequin polished sprung floor suitable for tap and ballet, body height mirrored wall, ballet bars, curtain track and blackout blinds. Fitted with lighting equipment and a lighting desk.

Capacity: Single studio occupancy 60 and combined room occupancy 72.

At Oxstalls and Park campuses, our IT suites with capacity of up to 70 computers in an individual room are available for external hire.

Please be aware that external devices can not be plugged into university computers.

Based within our Business School at our Oxstalls campus our purpose-built Moot Court, offers a real-life replica of a court room which can be booked for external hire for a variety of uses including filming and professional training.

The court area has gallery seating for 10 people and in addition, classroom seating for up to 16 people.

Available to hire year around, but there is greater availability outside of term time and at weekends.

Our Consumer Behaviour Lab, traditionally known as a focus group room, or viewing facility, allows moderators to conduct qualitative research.

Specifications:

• 10 participants capacity and a moderator (boardroom style).
• Two Shure overhead mics and two ceiling mounted HD cameras.
• Simultaneous recording and live streaming capability via private Youtube channel. If editing is required, additional charges will apply.
• Two 48 inch wall-mounted televisions with AppleTV and iPad for presentations or video content.
