Alder King appointed as commercial agent for City Campus
University of Gloucestershire has appointed Alder King as the commercial agent to support how the University can best use its new City Campus.
The property consultants’ role will be to represent University of Gloucestershire in the marketplace looking to secure commercial tenants, helping the University to make the most of the space available at City Campus.
The partnership will unlock opportunities for organisations to occupy the remaining areas of the campus in ways that align with the University’s values and benefit the students, staff, and the wider community.
Working closely with the University, Alder King will ensure that any commercial partners brought into the space complement UOG’s academic mission and contribute positively to the campus environment.
Jo Charles, Director of Commercial and Transformation at University of Gloucestershire, said: “This is an exciting and important appointment for the University. Alder King brings the expertise and market insight we need to accelerate the commercialisation of City Campus in ways we simply couldn’t achieve alone.
“Their support will help us realise the full potential of the site more quickly, and continue our transformation into a future-fit University at the heart of Gloucestershire.”
City Campus, which opened to the public in August, is now home to the University’s Education, Psychology and Social Work programmes, providing a vibrant hub for staff and students in the centre of Gloucester.
Adrian Rowley, Partner at Alder King, commented: “We are delighted to enter this exciting partnership with University of Gloucestershire. Working together, we can ensure that the University maximises the space City Campus offers and bring in commercial partners who share the University’s vision – adding real value to the campus and the wider community.”
Embodying the connected university approach, the campus will also offer shared public access facilities, including a new Arts, Health and Wellbeing Centre delivered in partnership with the NHS Integrated Care Board, and a new public library in partnership with Gloucestershire County Council.
