City Campus is our exciting new campus due to open in autumn 2025 in the heart of Gloucester.
The iconic building on Kings Square – formerly the Debenhams building – has been entirely renovated, creating a modern and vibrant centre for teaching, learning and community partnerships.
City Campus will build on the University’s proud heritage in teacher training, becoming an Institute for Education, and will also be home to students and staff from of psychological sciences and social work.

The easiest way to travel to City Campus is by public transport.
Train
The closest railway station is Gloucester – only a 6-minute walk from the campus.
Bus
The bus station (Gloucester Transport Hub) is a 3-minute walk away. Students and staff can travel around Cheltenham and Gloucester using Stagecoach bus services.
Benefit from reduced ticket prices by purchasing a UniRider ticket, either online or from the Stagecoach app. UniRider tickets are available to anyone with a University of Gloucestershire ID card.
Secure bicycle storage will be located in the courtyard area.
The Sustrans National Cycle Network runs through the city centre (route 41) and this connects to Waterwells Park & Ride in Quedgeley. It is also linked to Oxstalls Campus – 10 minutes away via cycle tracks.
Voi e-scooters are available to hire in Gloucester city centre. They are a quick and easy way to make short journeys around the city.

Waterwells Park & Ride is located in Quedgeley.
City Campus is situated on Kings Square in the heart of the city, with numerous shops, cafés and eateries within easy reach.
A 15-minute walk away is Gloucester’s historic docks. Here you’ll find the Quays outlet shopping centre, as well as a range of bars, restaurants and cafés.
Within the campus building there are vending machines if you need to grab a snack or drink while on the go.

As well as being a centre of learning for UoG students, City Campus will also offer shared public access facilities.
These will include a new Health, Arts and Wellbeing Centre in partnership with the NHS Integrated Care Board, and a new public library in partnership with Gloucestershire County Council.
