Developing Simulation Research Capacity and Capability through Research Education
Supported and funded by Health Education England South West (HEESW) and led by the University of Gloucestershire (UoG), this project supports an educational research opportunity to measure the impact of simulation-based education (SBE) and the demonstrable human factors, patient safety and quality improvement benefits.
The project will support an individual through a Masters in Research to achieve the following outputs:
- phased dissemination of findings from literature and research activity shared across the Trust, the HEESW simulation network, through Research4Gloucestershire and the Integrated Care System (ICS) research workstream;
- research capability within the Trust to support Trust and UoG ambitions to develop and support research activity amongst Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professions;
- a proof of concept project with potential for other HEIs and NHS Trusts to achieve supported research opportunities including student research placements;
This project and its potential for dissemination and replication provides a fantastic opportunity for research engagement for health and social care staff across the Trust and HEESW Simulation Network and beyond.
Project lead, Dr Liz Berragan
