University EU referendum debate to be streamed live online

The University of Gloucestershire’s EU referendum debate on Friday 13 May will be streamed live online from 6.15pm. Chaired by Head of Media School, Anne Dawson, the panel will include MEP and UKIP Frontbench Spokesman on Migration and Financial Affairs Steven Woolfe, the Conservative MP for Stroud Neil Carmichael, Cheltenham businesswoman Christina Simmonds, University of Gloucestershire Business School lecturer Jim Keane, Rob Young from the National Union of Students, and second-year International Business Management student at the university, Alex Jones.

Anne will be quizzing the panel on why we should or shouldn’t remain in the EU and the subsequent impact on such issues as the economy, immigration, financial regulations, business and travel. Questions will also be invited from the audience. If anyone wants to submit a question, please email communications@glos.ac.uk or do it through Twitter using #UoGEUDebate. Audience members will also be invited to hold up a card indicating which way they are inclined to vote at the start of the event, with the poll being repeated at the end to see if any opinions have been changed by the discussions.

Filmed and produced by students from the university’s Media School, the live stream will be available on the university website.
