Graduate outcomes survey highlights employment success and top UK subject rankings at University of Gloucestershire
University of Gloucestershire graduates continue to outperform the sector for employment and further study, with two subject areas ranked joint first in the UK for positive graduate outcomes.
The 2023/24 Graduate Outcomes Survey, released in June 2026, shows that nearly 94% of University of Gloucestershire graduates were in employment or further study 15 months after completing their course. This result places the University above the sector average and reflects the ongoing impact of employability support offered to students and graduates.
This year’s results also include several areas of exceptional performance for University of Gloucestershire, with Technology and Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies both ranked joint 1st in the UK for positive graduate outcomes.
Additionally, 100% of University of Gloucestershire Technology graduates achieved positive outcomes after their studies, a result matched by the University’s Law department. Media, Journalism and Communications subjects are now 7.4 points above the sector average, while Design, Creative and Performing Arts are 3.3 points above the sector average.
Graduate Outcomes is a national survey delivered by the Higher Education Statistics Agency. It asks graduates what they are doing 15 months after completing their course, providing an important picture of employment, further study, career progression and how graduates feel about their current activity.
The results also show continued progress in graduate salaries. Among UK-domiciled, full-time first-degree graduates in high-skilled employment in the UK, 91% were earning at least £24,000 per year within 15 months of graduation.
The survey also found that graduates are finding work that matters to them. 91% said their current work or study was meaningful, 88% said it aligned with their future plans and more than three quarters were already using what they had learnt during their degree.
These figures show that many graduates are not only moving into employment or further study but are also finding purpose and relevance in what they do next.
Dame Clare Marchant, DBE, Vice-Chancellor at University of Gloucestershire, said: “We’re delighted to see our graduates continuing to achieve such positive outcomes. These results are a testament to the hard work of our students and staff, and to the strength of the employability support we provide through our Career Promise, which continues long after students have completed their studies.
“At University of Gloucestershire, we’re committed to helping every student develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to succeed in their chosen career. We work closely with employers to ensure our graduates are ready for the world of work, and we support our students in identifying opportunities where their skills, experience and potential are a strong match.
“It’s important that students are not discouraged by the narrative that ‘there are no jobs’. There are opportunities available, and with the right support and determination, our graduates continue to demonstrate that they can build meaningful and rewarding careers.”
