National recognition for Photography course, students and staff
Students and staff from the University of Gloucestershire’s Photography: Editorial and Advertising programme achieved recognition at the 2022 Association of Photographers (AOP) Student Awards.
The Photography: Editorial and Advertising course itself was awarded second place in Course of the Year category, just missing out on winning the accolade for the third year in a row.
Trudie Ballantyne, the Course Leader for Photography: Editorial and Advertising and Senior Lecturer in Photography within the University’s School of Arts, secured second place in the AOP Student Awards Lecturer of the Year 2022 category.
Students Jade Fisher and Jeni Woolnough-Rai were both finalists at the 2022 AOP Student Awards, while Jade was runner-up at the 2022 Photo North Festival Student Awards.
Trudie Ballantyne said: “It’s always extremely encouraging and particularly pleasing when the work of our staff and students gains national recognition.
“We’re very happy that the Photography: Editorial and Advertising programme has been recognised again, having won the Course of the Year Award in 2018, 2020 and 2021.
“Many congratulations to Jade and Jeni for gaining such a high level of success for their thought-provoking and inspiring work. It’s a fantastic achievement and they should both feel really proud.”
